There are two ways to update the software on your SkyView system, depending on your existing software version and where you are in the world. Method 1 packages all of the most commonly downloaded files into packages that are available for US and Western Europe systems. Method 2 requires that you download and load multiple files to your SkyView system individually.

Improved: More robust failure handling on SkyView network. Should module(s) or screen(s) fails, the remaining available devices will continue working normally with no action or setup steps required. This also means that unlike in the D10/D100 series, SkyView systems have no specific "master" screen that needs special consideration.
Portrait and Landscape are Optional Picture Controls (pre-installed in select DSLRs) that can be downloaded for installation in the D3X, D3S, D3, D700, D300S and D300 DSLRs. The number of Optional Picture Controls that can be installed may differ with camera models, so again check your manual. Nikon also offers Picture Controls approximating the look achievable from the D2X and D2XS DSLRs; these can be installed and used in select Nikon DSLRs.
For the D810 DSLR and Nikon cameras introduced afterwards (June 2014), use ViewNX-i or Capture NX-D software for editing and processing RAW NEF files as well as basic editing. When working with these programs, Picture Controls are accessed via Picture Control Utility 2, which can be launched from ViewNX-i or Capture NX-D (which also supports the FLAT Picture Control.) Both are free downloads.
Finally, Dr. Nicole Beebe from The University of Texas at San Antonio posted samples of more than 32 file types at the Digital Corpora, which I used for verification and additional signatures. These files were used to develop the Sceadan File Type Classifier. The file samples can be downloaded from the Digital Corpora website.
2. The following screen will be displayed. Click [Starts to download images], or [Lets you select and download images].*The main window displayed differs depending on the connected camera. NOTEThe downloaded images are sorted by date into folders and saved in the [My Pictures] folder by default.To change the save destination, click [Preferences] and use the displayed dialogue box to choose a different destination.

If you selected [Lets you select and download images] in step 3, a viewer window will appear and the images in the memory card will be displayed.Select the desired images from the list by appending them with a checkmark, and then click [Download]. (Four images have been selected in the example below.) NOTEAn [ ] icon will be displayed in the upper left corner of movie files.
You can click the [ ] button displayed in the upper right and extract images by a variety of criteria to select images to download.
6. When all images have been downloaded, Digital Photo Professional (DPP) starts up automatically and the downloaded images are displayed in DPPs main window.NOTETo use Digital Photo Professional or ImageBrowser EX for image editing or other operations, refer to the PDF instruction manuals on the CD-ROM included with the camera.
You will only be able to select your analysis and annotation, or the computer analysis to add to the PGN, not both. But, you can always download multiple copies of the PGN if you want to!
